Given the confusion around this episode, just about everything falls into the missable category!* \My intent here is simply call out some fun little details that people may have missed. the show runners troll the audience! Knowing that people like me would actually try to read the article, deep in the small print of the article, Effie asks Maladie what name she was born with! Maladie give a long and rambling response but never tells us!ĭid you see other Easter Eggs specifically regarding Effie/Maladie during this episode? (I have several that are unrelated to Effie/Maladie that I'll put in a different post.).However, Mundie wouldn't let Effie see Maladie. Effie claims that the article is based on an exclusive final interview she had with the "Maladie" that was in jail.there is a drawing of Maladie that depicts bolts of electricity coming out of Maladies eyes.there is a quote from Maladie that reads: "YOU WILL BE SHOCKED AND AMAZED BY MY HEAVENLY ASCENSION." (Get it.shocked.get it.get it.? Oy.that was a bit on the nose.(When I first watched the episode, I thought they were all reading the same article). Harriet and Desiree read a different article than Mundi. There are actually two different newspaper articles. It outlines the prosthetic nose and brow that Maladie wore to look like Effie! There is a line down the side of her nose that continues across her brow. In newspaper that Harriet reads toward the start of the show, there is a drawing of Effie Boyle.Summary of some Easter eggs regarding Maladie and her plan in episode 5: Larger image of the article Mundie reads in case you want to read it yourself Here are some larger images of the newspaper articles.have fun. I couldn't help but feel incredibly sad and sorry for Maladie here. Newspaper Harriet reads toward the start of the showĮffie
